To be incorporated in a wall, or in a dry partition. The leaded frame thickness and the porthole screen dimension are adjusted to each type of installation. Two types of leaded frames are available: in red wood or in aluminium section. Maximum height of the glass: 2.000 mm.

Description

The Lemer Pax radiation shielding lead glass is manufactured with thick materials of high optical quality that gives a very good transmission in the visible light of wavelength (400 to 700 mm) for a visual comfort and an optimal security. It is provided in standard radiation protection equivalences of 1 mm or 2 mm of lead and in maximum sizes of 2000 x 1000 mm. It can be cut or drilled according to your specifications.

Principle

Thanks to its high capacity of absorbing ionizing rays and its high light transmission, the I.X-57 B lead glass is mainly used in medical, industrial and research fields, for the manufacturing of screens or radioprotection portholes. This optically polished glass on both sides is available in large dimensions in order to respond to the demands of the radiological, CT scanners, angiographic, PET scanners, gamma camera, dental panoramic rooms, etc.

Lead equivalence between the lead glass and the window glass

Ordinary glass is not recommended for the observation windows of the X-ray control room. For example, in order to obtain a lead equivalence of 1 mm for a high voltage from 50 and 150 KV, ordinary glass must be thicker than 126.8 mm. in comparison, only 5 mm of lead glass is necessary to obtain an equivalent protection.
